Now I’m a family man and I like to get on holiday with my crew as often as possible. That usually means family holidays approximately 3 or 4 times a year – vacation time and cash permitting. We’ll generally split those holidays up into one really good quality holiday (a bit of a blow-out), a winter holiday (perhaps in the Rockies or somewhere similar) and then a couple of camping trips out in the countryside (nice and cheap).
When it comes to the main holiday, the big, expensive summer holiday that we all really look forward to then I’ll nearly always opt for all inclusive deals that mean that all our food and drink (and most of the activities) will be included in the price I pay upfront. With three kids in tow, your holiday budget can really spiral out of control and so the all inclusive deal really does help your family finances out. I’m sure that you can imagine how much you’d be spending on food and drinks whilst you were away. That’s three meals a day, plus treats, plus drinks for five people . . . That’s a lot of cash!
The great thing with all inclusive deals is that I can then have a little budget which I keep separate to give the family a few special days out like helicopter flights or something :)
